Cantina Sociale Vinchio e Vaglio Serra
Piedmont in Italy
The co-operative association was created on February 26, 1959 by 19 vine-growers from Vinchio and Vaglio Serra. It counts now 224 members, that are owners and tenants of about 350 hectares of vineyard. These vineyards are concentrated for the most part in Vinchio and Vaglio Serra. Only a restricted part is situated in the neighbouring villages (Incisa Scapaccino, Cortiglione, Nizza Monferrato). These lands, situated on the Alto Monferrato’s hills, are not very fertile, being mostly calcareous and sandy. The 26 staff cooperative provides technical assistance, equipment, modern vinification systems, and French oak barrels to its 187 members. Some of its wines are exported to Canada, Central Europe, UK, Germany, Japan, and Korea.
