This family owned estate dates back to the 18th century. In 1995, it came to be owned by the Catalonian based Martorell family. Today it owns some 150 hectares with 35 hectares in Priorat, overseen and managed by winemaker Antonia López Puga (as pictured above sitting in his vineyards).
Grape varietal plantings covers the following: For whites varieties - Macabeo, Muscat of Alexandria, White Garnacha and Chardonnay, as well as red varieties - Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo, Garnacha, Syrah, Pinot Noir and other local indigenous grape varieties.
De Muller makes a very wide range of wines from the DO of Tarragona, Priorat and Terra Alta. Examples of its product offerings and bottling include: For reds; De Muller Cabernet-Sauvignon Barrica, De Muller Solimar, Legitim De Muller, Less Pusses de Muller Barrica, Lo Cabaló. For whites; De Muller Chardonnay. For sweets; De Muller Moscatel, and Misa Dulce Superior and so forth.
De Muller seeks an East and South Asian importer as informed by Maria, its export manager whom we met recently in April 2008 in Singapore. The wines of de Muller sees some 60% exported to the likes of Europe, Canada, Japan, Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark, and South America. 40% of its production makes it to the local Spanish consumption market.
